The Social Media Girl Diaries: A Day in the Life of an Account Manager

ASA’s superstar Connie Strazzeri on how she balances work, life and motherhood (with her baby girl, Chanel the dog)

“I am, throughout the day, consistently, morning to night, and even on weekends, looking at client stuff,” ASA account manager Connie Strazzeri said over Zoom.

Across the multitude of accounts that Connie works on at ASA, her focus is on making content fun, while suiting the client’s tone.

“It doesn’t matter what topic you’re talking about, you can still make it fun in a way that works for you” she said, on getting creative when it comes to client work.

She said that, while experts may deliver great advice or smart content, the delivery can be boring. Her goal as an account manager is to create engaging content that captures the client’s voice while compelling the consumer. This can be as simple as switching up the format or brainstorming a unique way to get information across.

Connie creates space for creativity throughout the course of her days – below, we’re taking a sneak peek into her jam-packed schedule (a la Sarah Jessica Parker – I don’t know how she does it!).

9 am – 12 pm

First things first: Connie takes 15 to 20 minutes to organize her day, setting up her calendar and her to do list. She’s flexible with her schedule, knowing that “by 10:30, something else comes up.”

“I get such satisfaction and gratification by banging off 50 things by 12 pm,” Connie said. “What does it for me is seeing a huge list that I have to do and banging [it] out one after the other.”

12 pm – 4:30 pm

“Then I’m like, I’m going to make myself another coffee, and then I get back to it. Then by 4:30 I calm down!”

When she needs a five minute breather, she’ll make a coffee and play fetch or cuddle with her dog, Chanel, who frequently graces the background of her Zoom calls. Then it’s back to work!

4:30 pm – 5 pm

‘“By 4:30, [I know that ] I’m not going to finish, so let’s not rush it. I can work at a comfortable pace until 5, and then after that I feel so good – it’s like a personal challenge, just banging everything off my list.”

If you’re looking to achieve your marketing dreams, you need a Connie in your corner. Get in touch  – we’d love to chat about how we can help you get it done.
